I have recently discovered quite a few emerging Chinese designers who specialized in modified Chinese styled clothing. They retained the traditional embroidery techniques in a modernized silhouette, lots of them used treated silk for a drapery look, and little details like jade are used for bottoms. This particular piece can be worn as a dress or vest with a loose fit. You can style it with a belt for a polished look or loose it for a weekend meditation :) I think it's such a genius way to preserve the Chinese culture.
